Getting Started
The Live Media GPS main menu comprises of the following options.
•Broadcast - Use this option for Live broadcasting
•Record - Use this option to record your broadcasts.
•Files - Select this option to view, upload and manage your recordings and live broadcasts.
•GPS - Displays if GPS is available. Open to view GPS data or to disable speed data being captured.
•Settings - Select this option to change the application's settings .
Broadcasting
Before you can use the Live broadcasting option you need to create a Live Media account.
Select the Broadcast option and you will be prompted to create an account or login with your existing details.
To Create a new account pick a user name and password of your choice (both must be longer that four characters). If the user name you have chosen has already been taken, Live Media will let you know so you can try again.
When you select the Broadcast option the application first goes into preview mode - you are not broadcasting at this point.
When you are ready to start broadcasting use the "Start" soft key (bottom right). After a few seconds you should see "Broadcasting 1 connection" - this means you are online and broadcasting.
To view your live broadcasts login to the website and click your "Live Link" on the Control Panel - this will connect to your mobile and after a few seconds you will see the video stream from your mobile.
To stop broadcasting use the "Stop" soft key (bottom left)
Public Broadcasting
Please refer to the section below about how to broadcast directly to the website so everybody can see your Live broadcasts.
Recording
There are two recording modes with Live Media GPS, Video and Video with audio.
When you select Record you will first see the preview screen - nothing is being recorded at this point.
To start recording either
•Press the Select (Enter) key to use the default recording mode (see Settings)
•Or select the recording mode from the menu
Having selected to start the recording there will be a short pause whilst the camera goes into full-screen mode.
After approximately two seconds the camera should automatically start recording. If this fails to happen, press the Select (Enter) key to start.
To stop recording, press the Select (Enter) key, then press Select again when the camera has stopped recording.
Viewing and uploading recordings
To view your recorded broadcasts, first select the "Files" item from the main menu, then tap or select the broadcast you want to view from the list. Alternatively, select the file and use the Menu and select "Play".
When you are ready to upload a broadcast, select the file from the list and then "Upload" from the Menu. If you haven't previously given the broadcast a description you will be prompted to provide one before the upload commences.
The first time you upload a file you will also be prompted to Login with your Live Media account details or to create a new Live Media account simply enter your chosen User Name and Password.
Upload options
•Show On My Page
Select this item to automatically show your broadcast your personal public page.
•Publish to public website - WARNING selecting this item will show your broadcast on the public website's home page.
•Recorded in landscape
Select this option if you recorded your broadcast with the phone rotated, meaning the width of the video is greater than the height of the video.
Files & Broadcast sync
When you open the Files item on the main application screen, you will see 2 options
•Videos
Select this item to access your recorded broadcasts
•Live
select the Live item to sync your phone with your live broadcasts that have been captured on the server.
Tip: To increase/decrease the playback rate use the Up/Down buttons on your phone.
Website access & publishing broadcasts
Having uploaded your recordings login from your PC at www.ix-m.com/gps
Settings
•GPS mode - Use this option enable/disable GPS power saving.
•Public PIN - Creating a Public PIN allows other users to login to the website to see your Live broadcasts.
•Public Broadcasting - Use this option to enable fully public broadcasting (everybody can see your Live broadcasts)
•Location warning - Select to enable a warning message if you broadcast publicly from home.
•Notifications - Use this option to setup Live broadcast SMS notifications
•SMS Activation - This option allows broadcasts to be remotely started via SMS
•Broadcaster - This is an advanced option to set the image quality of stream
•Video - Settings for recording videos
•Connection log - select to see who has been watching your Live broadcasts
•Icons - Sets the size of the main menu icons
•Auto update - Enable this option if you want to check for updates when you start the application.
•Twitter - Send updates when you start/stop broadcasting or upload a broadcast
Public broadcasting
By default your broadcasts are private. Live Media GPS also supports (subject to terms and conditions) the ability to broadcast publicly. All public broadcasts can be viewed live on the website and also on the Live Media For Mobile desktop and mobile clients.
To configure the application for public broadcasting enter your email address and then select the Request PIN menu item.
Next check your email and then copy the PIN into the Activation PIN field. If you have entered a valid PIN then you are ready to start broadcasting publicly.
Twitter Settings
If you have enabled public broadcasting then you can optionally setup the application to send updates to Twitter.
From the Settings screen select Twitter then enter your login details - these are only stored on your phone and all connections are made directly to Twitter from your phone.
There are 3 types of updates the application can sent to Twitter and you can edit the text sent for each update type by selecting Menu, then Edit Message.
There are two types of predefined values in the default message text.
•[ADDRESS] - this is replaced with the closest address to your current location.
•[URL] - this is replaced by the link to the broadcast you upload.
You can remove these predefined values if you want to.
